Now what….

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Sharp pain rings through my head as my alarm clock goes off. Not only is there beeping but a throbbing headache snaps me awake. Groggy and incoherent, I stumble into the living room, attempting to wake myself up.

Ooooo chocolate donut. Yum.

Munching away, I stare at the abnormally large Christmas tree in my apartment. Where has time gone? Just yesterday I was starting to plan my lighting design for IMAGINE Christmas. Just yesterday I was starting a new semester at UConn. Just yesterday it was summer time.

I feel strangely at peace yet torn. What am I supposed to do now?

My whole schedule has revolved around IMAGINE Christmas over the last three months. Hundreds of hours have poured into creating my first lighting design and if I can be so bold, it was amazing. With the equipment I had and the budget I had, lights for IMAGINE Christmas were above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. Only once did the lights disappoint me and that was an error on my part missing a cue. (more…)

Ahh to Date… Or not…

Friday, August 15th, 2008

I have only been in two serious relationships. One I would consider a “true” relationship. The other we simply showed up to church, worshipped, then made out afterwards.

Solid display of maturity and why I liked church. Haha.

This past winter, I made the decision, after a failed dating attempt, to cut all ties with the dating scene and break-up from any romantically-based relationships. At first, it was weird. I still had crushes. I still had longings for that kind of connection. But after a few months, I could no longer see myself dating anyone. It just wasn’t going to happen.

After 9 months of making this commitment, (more…)

Laying it All Out There

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

I’ve thought about this for a while now. Posting something of this caliber out in the open, laying it all out there, for everyone to see. Only until recently did I think it was a good idea and opt to move forward with it.

Be forewarned – this post is long so please take some time to read through it. It is still very real to me and very much a part of my life. I deal with temptation everyday that, up until a few weeks ago, I succumbed to. There may be at times language that is harsh but it serves it’s purpose. My only wish for you is that before, and after, you read this you simply say a prayer for me.

Ask for protection, encouragement, and most importantly that I continue to see God’s light and love for me and recognize Him as the one and only thing to live my life for. I’m hoping to shed God’s light upon a very dark area in my life and, without sending letters to everyone, this is the next best thing to accomplish this.

So now that that is out there…. (more…)

Oh, What a Day

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Finally the best weather on the eastern side of the states has arrived!! For the next 6 months or so, New England will be blessed with some of the most amazing weather I have known and will under go changes in seasons that rival anything mother nature has to dish out.

I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon outside most of the day and truly relaxing during it. I had my windshield fixed around lunch time so it’s only a matter of time before the rocks attack again… Around the time it was finished, Stephen came over to hang out before we went golfing, which to say the least was awesome.

There is very little in the world that I enjoy quite as much as golfing, especially with a friend. It is so relaxing. It also relieves a lot of stress as you use all your strength and coordination to blast the little white suckers as far as possible, which for me isn’t too difficult ;) (by the way, if you live close by or will drive to me, free lessons to anyone who wants them… as long as you buy the balls…)

At some point though, I remember saying (more…)

Amazing Grace How Sweet the Sound

Found this story while reading a fellow blogger’s post. Pretty amazing story!

Check it out here.

It is certainly an amazing tale of God’s infinite grace upon us and why we should be praising God and living for Him daily.
