About Me

IMG_2042Hi! I’m Evan!

I set up this blog in order to show that living with “God vision” is possible and, with practice and discipline, can become a true lifestyle.

I was one of the coordinators for the Atmosphere ministry for two years, helping to run/design the sound, lighting, and visual elements at St. Paul’s Collegiate Church. I stepped down from this position in June 2009 because I felt God had a different plan for me. I partnered with Touch the World Ministries and helped lead a team of students to Uganda and found a place where God wanted me! In February 2010, I’ll start the Venture internship program with TTW as the film/photo intern for promotional materials.

I went on a mission trip to Uganda in July 2009 and was radically changed by it. Some of the posts here revolve around that experience. I hope to return there in 2010 and stay as long as God wants me there, reaching out to those who are suffering and making people back home aware of it. I can only hope that I post encouraging and challenging thoughts but if nothing else, blogging has become a spiritual discipline for me so this should give you some insight as to what is going on in my life.

I’m an avid photographer/videographer and love snapping the perfect shot!. Check out some of my pictures if you’re interested at my Flickr site here and Picasa site here!

Leave me a note when you stop in or send me an email.

Enjoy!

I’m walking through the grounds of St. Mary Kevin’s Orphanage, taking various pictures and really just trying to take everything in, when out of no where, a little girl runs into me hugging me and giggling. I look down to the little cling-on and [...] […]

  • obsession gone inward February 8, 2010
Over the last couple years of this blog, there have been numerous posts on poverty, suffering, and homelessness. I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t obsessed with things that were wrong with this world. What’s problematic for me, in a good way I suppose, is that I want to be a part of [...] […]

  • interceding for sodom pt1 February 8, 2010
Genesis 18 Abraham is talking with the Lord and two other men. The Lord begins to tell him of his concern for Sodom, that their sin has become so overwhelming that He has heard a great outcry from them. Abraham listens intently to all of this but then has a fleeting moment of “WTF?” it seems. [...] […]

  • believing the lies February 8, 2010
all too often, we are told by society that without the new toy in our life, the new make-up line, the new leather jacket we will not be happy. we are told that its okay to indulge in pleasure – sex, drugs, alcohol, *insert your own here* – and that we shouldn’t feel convicted about [...] […]
